We are a mixed-animal veterinary practice, that has been in business for almost 50 years. We are located in Huntsville, TX on Highway 75 North. At Walker County Veterinary Center, you will find professional team members striving to make your experience with us exceptional. John David Nicholson, DVM

Dr. John David Nicholson graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014 and practiced both large animal and small animal medicine after graduation. Dr. Nicholson is originally from Huntsville and moved back in June of 2017 to work at Moore Veterinary Clinic before purchasing the clinic in March 2021. He is married to Kristin and has 3 children, Luke, Landon and Jacob, who keep him busy between FFA projects, church, and coaching little league baseball. The Nicholsons are active members of Fellowship of Huntsville Church, where they enjoy serving in the Children’s Ministry. Dr. Nicholson looks forward to the opportunity to serve the community by continuing to care for animal needs of our area.

John Pinard, DVM

Dr. John Pinard is originally from Shoreacres, TX. He moved to Huntsville to attend Sam Houston State University and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. After graduation, he attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May 2023. Dr. Pinard and his wife, Robyn, just welcomed their first child, Grace Ann, also in May 2023. They attend Fellowship of Huntsville Church and are looking forward to creating a home here in Huntsville. Dr. Pinard is interested in mixed animal medicine and looks forward to serving our community.

Jennifer Crowder, Clinic Manager
Jennifer has been at WCVC since 2014, starting as a technician and now as the Clinic Manager. She has a BS in Animal Science from Texas A&M University and keeps the clinic running smoothly on a daily basis. She and her husband have one son, three dogs and too many neighborhood cats to count.

Elijah Lemmons, LVT
Elijah has been in the veterinary field since 2015 and with WCVC since 2016. He is an LVT with experience in emergency and general practice, large and small animals, and exotic and pocket pets. Elijah is our Lead Senior Technician and has a Quarter Horse named Rip and a heeler pit mix dog named Marv.

Allie Saez, LVT
Allie is a graduate from the Vet Tech Institute of Houston and has been with WCVC since 2021. She is an integral part of the clinic and has a specific interest in radiology. She has a daughter and a Catahoula cur dog who keep her very busy.

Sandy Meador, LVT
Sandy is an LVT with veterinary experience spanning 40 years. She spent 30 of those at Alvarado Veterinary Clinic as a technician, then as the manager for 46 employees. Her knowledge and experience are a major asset to WCVC’s staff and clients. She has one cat and two dogs and has been with WCVC since 2022.

Cortni Ashcraft
Cortni is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BS in Animal Science who has been in veterinary medicine since 2019. She has been with WCVC since 2021 and has an Australian Shepherd-Dally, Boston Terrier- Spike, cat- Brisket and horse- Harley.

Madyson Meager
Maddy has been in the field of veterinary medicine since 2020 and with WCVC since 2021. She graduated from Huntsville High School and stays busy between the clinic and spending time with her boyfriend, building metal buildings and watching him ride bulls. She has one dog, a blue heeler named Suede.

Landon Heckendorn, LVT
Landon is a graduate of the Vet Tech Institute of Houston and is working on obtaining his license to become an LVT. He has worked at WCVC since 2023. He has a cat, Kira, and a ball python, Blu.

Yoana Marquez
Yoana (“JJ”) is a student at Sam Houston State University pursuing a BS in Animal Science. She has been with WCVC since 2022. She first began completing her hours for completion of her CVA (Certified Veterinary Assistant) and then was hired as a technician.

Andrew Machart
Andrew has been with WCVC since 2023 and is a student at Sam Houston State University working on a BS in Animal Science, with a pre-veterinary medicine concentration. He hopes to attend veterinary school after graduation.

Kristin Nicholson
Kristin is a graduate of Texas A&M University and has been with WCVC since 2021.  She is married to Dr. John David Nicholson and they have 3 boys who keep them very busy. They also have a dog, Rocco, 4-H goat and rabbit projects, as well as a small herd of Brangus cattle.
